Rhyme scheme checker

Paste a verse or a hook and see which lines rhyme. Each line gets its syllable count and rhyme letter, like in the app.

Analysis

Analysing…

How it works

The checker reads the last word of every line, finds how it is pronounced and compares it with the lines before it in the same stanza. Lines that rhyme, perfectly or as a slant rhyme, share a letter and their last word is underlined.

The common schemes in songs are couplets (AABB), alternate rhyme (ABAB) and the hook that rhymes on one sound (AAAA). Learn what each one does in what is a rhyme scheme, or find a rhyme for an unrhymed line with the rhyme finder.

Questions

What is a rhyme scheme?

A rhyme scheme is the pattern of rhymes at the end of the lines, written with letters: lines that rhyme share a letter. Couplets are AABB, alternate rhyme is ABAB.

How does the rhyme scheme checker work?

It looks up how the last word of each line is pronounced and compares it with the lines above in the same stanza. Perfect and slant rhymes get the same letter. A blank line starts a new stanza.

Does it find slant rhymes?

Yes. Endings that share their vowel sounds, like "colder" and "powder", get the same letter, the way listeners hear them in a song.

What do the numbers next to the letters mean?

The number is the syllable count of the line, the letter is its rhyme. It is the same label the Lyric Studio app shows at the end of every line, like 12A.
