Lyric checker
Paste your lyrics to catch the clichés, repeated words and uneven rhyming lines a second pair of ears would point out.
Analysing…
How it works
The checker runs the on-device checks of the Lyric Studio app’s Lyric Coach:
- Clichés: stock phrases like “heart of gold” or “into the night”.
- Repeated words: words of four letters or more used in three or more different lines.
- Uneven lines: two lines in a row that rhyme but differ by four or more syllables, so they’re hard to fit on the same beat.
When it flags something, rewrite the line with a concrete image instead of a general feeling. Stuck for words? Try the rhyme finder for a fresh ending.
Questions
What does the lyric checker look for?
Three things that weaken a song: stock phrases heard in countless songs, words you repeat in three or more lines, and rhyming lines whose syllable counts differ by four or more.
Why avoid clichés in lyrics?
Phrases like "broken heart" or "set me free" have been sung so often that listeners skip over them. Saying the same thing with a detail from your own life makes the line stick.
Is repeating words always bad?
No. A hook repeats on purpose, so a chorus sung twice only counts once. The checker flags words repeated across different lines, where a fresh word usually reads better.
Is this the same as the Lyric Coach in the app?
It runs the same checks as the Lyric Coach on the phone. In the app the AI coach also reads your meaning and suggests rewrites in any language.
